Covid-19

We have put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, we cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, in person testing sessions could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19.

Only children and teens who have been Fully Vaccinated will be tested. Family members that live in the same household as the youngster being tested must also be Fully Vaccinated. This holds true for the examiners as well.

Safety precautions in place:

Intake and Feedback meetings with parents will be conducted in person, unless County mandates preclude that. If that occurs, these parent sessions will be conducted via video conference.

  • Intake documents now include an informed consent for telepsychological services. This outlines the potential risks and benefits of conducting the intake and feedback sessions via video conference.

All testing sessions are conducted in person. If/when County mandates restrict in person sessions, testing will be postponed and rescheduled at mutually agreeable times.

Office procedures to enhance safety:

  • Prior to each testing session, examiners wash their hands and then prepare the office and adjacent bathroom in the following ways:

    • Portable air filter, a Coway AP-1512HH(W), is turned on. This air purifier contains a HEPA filter for microscopic particles and a manually controlled Vital Ion filter for air freshening.

    • Light switches are disinfected (using Lysol spray) before and after each testing session. Lights are left on throughout testing sessions so there is no need to touch the light switches (by the evaluator or examinee).

    • Bathroom faucet and soap dispenser are touchless.

    • All bath and hand towels have been removed from the bathroom; only paper towels remain.

    • The fan in the bathroom is turned on and left on throughout testing sessions.

  • Intake documents now include an informed consent pertaining to Covid-19 and in-person testing.

  • Face masks are currently optional. If either the examiner or the client/client's parent requests that they be worn, they will be.

    • If breaks from wearing the face mask are needed, the client will step outside of the office into the driveway and remove his/her facemask. Snacks can be consumed at this time as well.

    • As much as possible, the examiner administers measures according to standardized protocols; changes to typical administration are discussed on a test-by-test basis in the body of the report.
